The top ten Best Flavor Related things about fall
1. Pumpkin - I've already started experimenting with pumpkin a few weeks ago in an attempt to trick fall into starting sooner :) 2. Apples - I even took a stab at making Apple Cinnamon Kombucha! More on how my flavoring experiments with Kombucha Tea turned out coming soon. 3. Figs - These and pomegranates are tied for first place of my all time favorite fruits. 4. Soups are back! Finally! I've become so bored with Gazpacho being the only soup choice during the hotter months. 5. Hot Drinks - Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Teas, Ciders, Hot Toddy's Mmmmmmm :) 6. Cinnamon - Every spice really, ginger, nutmeg, clove, the more the better! 7. Baking! And finally not caring if the oven heats the whole house up. 8. Hot cereal - Quinoa, steel cut oats, muesli, etc. Warming up in the morning from the inside out is the only way to go. 9. The Smells - Okay, bear with me but for some reason all food and food related things seem to smell so much better as the weather cools down. 10. Vanilla - I'm not really sure if this one is actually more winter than fall, but as soon as the summer heat starts to fade away, all I can think about is how much I want to bake, so I'm going to count vanilla as fall :) |
Deep down we all know that if the seasons were a competition, fall would be the clear winner out of the four, at least as far as the flavors go anyway ;)
Note to fall: Stay long and dazzle us with all of your transformative glory.
